What is Music Therapy and how does it work?
Music Therapy is the professional field which applies music interventions to target specific (non-musical) goals. Sessions are designed and run by Board-Certified Music Therapists, which can include any form of singing, instrumental playing, or music involvement that exercises a particular skill or goal. Common treatment areas include fine/gross motor, speech, and cognitive learning, behavior, and social/emotional development.

History
MTCSB is an established sole proprietorship of Los Angeles County, by Neurologic Music Therapist Sara M. Dudik, MT-BC, NMT. Sara is a board-certified music therapist and graduate of Chapman University, where she received her bachelors of music therapy and a minor in psychology. Her career has spanned to serve infants through elderly, with a variety of diagnoses, including early childhood development, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and Dementia, at-risk youth, developmental disorders, and sever behavioral/emotional disorders. All services are offered at public and private locations, including local schools and studios, private homes, and assisted living facilities and day centers throughout the south bay cities.
